Get my 996 running and buy the 848.
Anyone else?
My 996 is in a big shitheap, half of it is at my house, the other half
at my dads. The heads are getting new guides, new exhaust valves, and a
valve job done. The cylinders are getting either a hone or a new nikasil
coating. The bottom end is ready to be re-assembled, so I'm going to
start working on that soon. I had the crank balanced and lightened so it
looks like an SPS crank now. The bike had SPS titanium rods in it when I
bought it, but the little ends needed bushings and the big ends were
slightly out of round. So that got fixed as well.
It's supposed to be my racer but we'll see. I may put it back on the
street. If I do that, I probably should get some less wild cams for it,
it's got the 458 intake (super wild) and G exhaust in it (superbike spec
from the early 90's). I probably should get SPS or something like that
if it goes on the street.
That 848 is just too good to be ignored. I really want it, but I've got
a few other irons to tend to before then.

ummmmm, try and keep both the sc1000 and 79 for as long as possible
or win lotto and buy a 848
or a spotless all original 888

I'm guessing a spotless 888 is worth more than an 848? Those are pretty
rare. Worth buying though, as long as you don't thrash it too much.
Working on desmoquattro engines isn't so fun...
79 what? I may have missed something...
