For dirt...
My first choce would be a 10" or larger Cresant (adjustable) wrench.
My second choice would be a 10" or larger monkey wrench (pipe wrench
with square toothless jaws).
That... since I already have both and there's a 75-90% possibility that
I could find at least one of them when I need it. Smile

For street... I'd probably buy the correct size socket. I purchaed a
nice large wrench once to install trailer balls with 1" shanks. I think
I paid nearly $30 for that sucker.
