was it a female? Female GSDs are very very jealous of her master.
Once, I got very drunk at home. I was sleeping with the door that
grant my bedroom access to the yard. My brother asked me to close it
for the night, but I refused to (he told me this later, I can't
remember a thing from that day). He, then, entered my bedroom to close
the door. My GSD was laying on the floor beside my bed and simply
denied access to my brother. She attacked my brother like he was a
threat. Later, I asked a friend veterinarian what was that and she
said it was just normal german shepherd behavior, that's why it is
called "shepherd"...

Humans are never satisfied.
BTW, when it's cool, it is cheaper and more effective to warm up (I'm
not talking arctic temperatures here), heaters are cheaper and one can
always dress lots of clothes, but there is a limit where you can't
take out clothes. Air conditioning is not so efective and besides, it
drains more electricity than I am willing to pay for.

You should see the side effects of riding on very thin clay mixed with
the right amount of sand and water...

I've got the soldering iron and the skills and I don't have a crimping
tool, or the skill. I could buy a crimping tool and a bag of conectors
and learn or buy only the bag of conectors and do the work... Tough
decision!

Wait until next year's German winter, after september, so I'm able to
take vacations too and we could ride more. Warn me in advance. I am
serious about this... about tropical diseases: no malaria whatsoever,
very slim chance of yellow fever, slim chance of dengue. Interesting
enough, many europeans who visit here get food poisoning, I guess
that's because people when on vacation forget about food safety and
eat at places that would never eat when at home. Or, maybe, we're used
to some bacterias that are common here and no-existent in europe. We
could visit the zoo, if you have this desire to see crocs and lethal
snakes, but the spiders are there, we could look for them on the wild,
if you want, but I warn: they are quite hard to spot, they fear us men
in noisy machines and flee long before we arrive, as do 100% of any
wild animal. Anyway, this is no excuse. TAP has daily non-stop flights
from Lisbon, it can't be easier than that, can it?

Hi Tiago!

Hell, yeah! Sure I consider that fun. Reminds me of a "garage party" we had
once. There was one bet going on where, after countless beers, riding buddy
Stefan promised to put his KTM 620 into an elevator that barely fit four
persons. He tried hard in all directions (including the volume diagonal!),
there was a lot of wheelspin involved, the automatic door ding-dinged for
about 1'000 times, he failed and the landlord arrived. No police, no jail,
however.
The top floor of the garage is also very convenient for supermotard
training. Including a marvelous view over Munich's skyline. Hrhr.

To add to jealousy, I have to say that we took pictures. MANY PICTURES!
Perhaps I can persuade Lutz to add them to my homepage... BTW, I probably
will have to buy a new fuel tank. At 190,- new a real bargain, isn't it? I
think, I'll sleep over it a night or two.

Something like this: www.bartheld.net/snowmx/snowmx.htm? You should take
into account, that a warm engine melts snow and water can freeze over night
if the bike has to stay outside. This leads to interesting side effects

They shouldn't if crimped correctly. Normally, kinda "cold weld" of metals
results when crimping is done with sufficient force (and tool). If you
solder, make sure that the tin-solder doesn't creep too far up the cable
which will make it inflexible.

That sounds like an acceptable offer! So I have to talk to my GF for
absolution (she's a teacher and won't be able to come along outside school
holidays), concealing facts about Malaria, gigantic spiders, whale-sized
crocodiles and a (Zombie)wood full of lethal snakes! Not to speak of
hot and good looking babes asking me for a ride...
She doesn't have a newsreader, so that should be piece of cake. Let's just
pretend, I'm doing a boring IT-job over there!
Cheers,
talk to you later - with a ride report, hopefully

Hi!
> Mr Bartheld is suffering from bitter cold and snow.
Actually only the former. Nowadays, snow seems to be quite rare here in
Munich. Today we had perfect weather, blue sky and temperatures around
8°C/46°F - but unfortunately no access to my scoot and a bunch of work to
do... But tomorrow this hopefully is going to change and the thumper light
up after about 100 kicks (rotten fuel in the carb, no motivation to clean
it out).

Amen. So true.
Things might be different tomorrow. We'll see. Fingers crossed...
Cheers,
Volker,
having shreads of flesh hanging from his lips because of severe frostbite
during a longish mountainbike ride...

Hi!
>> Sure, the riding I have in mind will be highly illegal and take place in

It really is. This is what google maps has to say about it:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=de&geocode=&q=m%C3%BCnchen,+kiefern...ten&sll
BTW, the big donut in the bottom/right corner of the satellite image is the
"Allianz-Arena", where the opening match of the soccer world championship
took place. There are - as you can see - tracks, there is wood - and there
are "residents" - with dogs and sometimes guns.
> Are they going to be using anti-tank weaponry?
Actually, tanks are a rare species there nowadays. But some years ago, when
I still had my Honda CR250R, I was blasting around a corner at dawn and
almost bumped into a something that could have been a "Büffel":
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Bergepanzer_Bueffel.jpg or a "Leopard"
(http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Leo2A5.JPG) - hell, it was camouflaged
(and I was shocked), so there was no time for further investigation.
Some 4WD vehicle soon went after me, so U-turned, wound out the CR FWO to
get away. No heat seaking missiles though. Wheee, that was fun. I was still
shivering all over with adrenalin five minutes after...
> Your report had me laughing at my desk at work, which is not really

Hrhr. Sorry. I apologize for having sinned.
Cheers,
Volker

Sorry, your English is so good, I often don't realize how easily some
of the idiomatic stuff is broken, and we both wind up searching off in
tangents that neither meant
I didn't mean there was something odd about the title. I really liked
that it managed to capture the exact feeling of your report's sense of
desperation and determination with a minimalist's sense of simple is
more, and at the same time capturing that feeling of "so many trails,
so little time..." ennui. Perfect.
On the other hand, you did point out even another layer of meaning
that I hadn't noticed, and I guess neither did you, without further
scrutiny. I don't think I've left very many cheeseburgers uneaten,
myself.

all I can use is this:

and it seems to take about 3 weeks between initial posts and when it

So no, I haven't seen it. Flickr, or photobucket ???
