My dririder no longer keeps me dry. I am commuting 160k a day and sick
of getting wet. Has anyone any comments on Rjays jackets? Do they leak?
I found some for $150, seems a bit cheap.
Any ideas about a jacket that really is waterproof?
Paul

Hi Paul,
I have an RJays jacket which is about 5 years old and I'm looking to replace
it because it leaks like a sieve. Has done for three years at least.

How much money is waterproof worth to you?

My Tiger Angel Element jacket - made to measure for about $700 - is
reliable waterproof, the Aerostich (just under A$1000 landed for the 2
piece suit) is too.

If waterproof isn't worth that much to you, then replace your cheaper
jacket ever 2 years or so.

Zebee is correct. Spend some extra money and you'll get a product that
lasts.
I've had a Spidi Route for 6 years and it still goes strong. I've only just
replaced it for something longer and overall more practical (re POCKETS!),
Rev'it Cayenne. The Spidi was just under $400 and the Cayenne I had shipped
in for $500.

Would love to splash out on a Roadcrafter in a couple of years.....heck
might even pick it up when I go to the States.

Don't piss fart around. Spend the extra dosh now and be happier longer.

And you get damp all over from sweating so much. Plastic works but in
anything over 5 deg.C it is most uncomftable and suitable for short periods
at best. Then again if you only want it for your commute it may be worth
considering as even if it rains all the way home thay'll be 1 1/2 hrs maybe.

No jacket ideas, but if you're really that much of a Rain God I'll pay
you to move to Canberra.

Nothing works to keep water out while letting water out..... Goretex
does better than most.

You will get sweaty or you will get wet. Your choice.

Well, skin does quite a good job, at least when it's on it's owner.

Ride about on a motorcycle and the worst that happens to you is getting
wet? Sounds OK to me.
