You might want to have the Yamaha dealer look at your windshield
installation. I had my dealer install a tall Yamaha windshield on my V-Star
1100 Classic when it was new 6 years ago, and there is very little
vibration. In fact, it appears that there is no vibration at all.

I just mounted a OEM tall windshield on my v-star 650 Custom and it
does have some vibration. I was real concerned about it also and I
talked to a friend of mine and he has a Honda Shadow and he told me his
vibrates also. Yamaha looked at mine and told me to expect some
vibration that it was normal.
