I thought the questions were poorly stated. The subject matter needed to
be discussed I just couldn't stand how it was asked.

I heard all I need from Kerry.. "committed" to a 40% bump in min wage.
*BRILLIANT*... the American public has mastered the art of putting
downward price pressure on virtually everything in the market, and Kerry
wants to boost labor costs. Paper routes will end up in f'ing India if
that bonehead giveaway artist gets in.

In my highschool history class this was refered to as a "Chicken in every
pot" type of speech. A play on promises from the early 1900's from
politicians of that time. It really reminds me of that.
Sounds good on the surface but underneath it's not a very sound idea.

I hear a lot about "outsourcing". Why is it that I never hear
anything about the "insourcing" the auto industry has done of the last
decade or so? Japanese and German auto plants are all over this
country "outsourcing" their jobs to us. It doesn't bother me that
Mindspring or Hewlett Packard send their bullshit tech support jobs to
India and the Phillipines when we get ten times as many manufacturing
jobs in return.
The debates were a joke - as they are every year - pure pomp over
substance. If anyone found anything mindchanging in them, I'd like to
hear what it was.
I did think that Kerry stuttering and hemming and hawing last night
was pretty funny though. On the basis of that, he loses.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: He's very twitchy though... |

I am completely out of context here, but this is something that always had
made me think.
Why government never says how much more tax and what would be the increase
in the economy from the added money that people will have after the minimum
wage increase? All they say is the negative impact in the "system", that
will have to pay higher wages and "press" the government accounts. I think
that A) They doesn't do they job right and do only the negative part or B)
the positive impact would not be good for those who are in the power. I
don't believe that C) that can't be calculated is a valid option, sure it
can be put into numbers. Perhaps D) it will take too long for the money get
back into government and powerful people pockets is the likely answer...
Just my 2 cents.

One thing I heard that I think was funny and true about these debates. If
after all the stating of positions for the last 11 months if you don't know
who your gonna vote for at this point you have to be stupid or live under a
rock. The positions on both guys are well stated and have been.

A most telling indicator of the debates are the candidates on your state's
ballots who were denied participation ... since free and fair elections are
such a good idea in Afghanistan and Iraq, we should they them here as well.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: He's very twitchy though... |

Ultimately, an increase in minimum wage reduces tax revenues.

You're right. Unless it gets to the point where a half dozen or more
are trying to debate at once. Then it just gets stupid.

I can see one being confused if all one heard was Kerry stating his
positions. You'd think he was three or four different people.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: He's very twitchy though... |
