Wouldn't you have to locate the slime who stole it first? (Or did I miss a

Speaking of which; I'm a big fan of Bridgestone BT45s; using them almost
exclusively for the past decade. I get 10,000+ and I've never crashed on
them.
Sadly; they don't make the 120/70/17 and 180/55/17 that the "new" Triumph
Sprint Sport requires.
Any suggestions?

(Actually they DO make a BT45 120/70/17 but the rear tyres top out at
150/70)

Have you considered trading in the Angie or possibly a private sale of the
aforementioned unit.

When was the lase service? Any head work?

Blondie may be interested in doing a deal.

Just a thought.

Well... I didn't post about it, scared of a jinx I guess.

But yes, the red hooligan tool is back!

Was pushed down the road into a unit carpark, they had a half hearted
attempt to hotwire it, and left it.

6 months later a resident decided it had been abandoned and rang the
police.

It runs, but there's damage to the manifold (new one now ready to
install) and the petrol tap's dead (new one ready to install). But
while looking it over I decided the forks needed work and a few other
things needed work and there was this wreck available....

So once I have raided the wreck[1] for bits that ere better than the
bits I have, I'll get it roadworthy and sell it.

Will be a better commuter scooter for most motorcyclists than the
usual Taiwanese 125 or 150, as long as you aren't afraid of the words
"Italian" and "2 stroke"...

Zebee

[1] brought into a shop for "engine stops for no reason". They fiddled a
bit then made the mistake (they say) of asking a "part timer" to remove
the rear wheel and engine. This guy's method of doing that was to strart
by cutting the brake hose to remove the caliper, then cut any other
hoses or cables that were in the way....

Bummer. that front is about the size I'd put on the back of the Yam if
I do put 17" wheels on it...

The XJ900 and the K75 both used 120/90 or 130/80 rears.
The Trump has 1 more hp than the XJ so that'd explain the need to the 50%
fatter tyre!

I haven't had a Continental tyre in almost 30 years!
I'm keen to stick with Bridgestone if I can find out what the radial
equivalent of the BT45 is though.
I don't crash on Bridgestones!

(Actually the 1100GS did have a Bridgestone rear but it was the Metzler
front that let go)

That's excellent news (although it's dreadful that it was allowed to sit out
in the elements for 6 months before someone noticed!)

It seems to be the BT54.
Anyone used them?
Any suggestions/warnings on whether a 54 (radial) rear / 45 (bias) front
would be weird or not?

Boggled my brain.

Luckily almost all the stuff he'd taken off the bike was found[1].
I'm missing the key (joy) and the alternator cover. With luck the cover
will be a stock bit on other Piaggio scooters and available in a wreckers
here or in the UK. A key can be cut.

So right now the bike's sitting with the keybarrel removed and ready
to be hotwired once I make a new oilpump cable (one of the things that
was cut) to see if I can fix this alleged "intermittent running" thing.
Once it is running then I can replace the other cut bits, swap bits with
my good bike, roadworthy it, and flog it.

If I can't get it running then I guess I put it back to as complete as
it gets, part out the stock stuff I don't need because I have better
aftermarket already[2], and shove the rest in the back of the shed as spares.

Zebee
- who isn't sure if there's *room* at the back of the shed, but I
suppose it can hang from the ceiling.

[1] except, I expect, a lot of bolts and screws. There was a bunch of
them under the seat, but I bet that's not all of them. Does seem to
be most of the weird ones though.

[2] the stock exhaust is a horror. Heavy and ugly. No street cred at
all!

I had them on my earlier Bandit, they were good for 12,000 to 15,000 kms
but didn't grip very well.

They are superseded, and have been for some time.

The closest in the current range would be the BT020 sports/touring tyre,
although even these are quite a bit stickier and good only for about
8000 to 10000kms.

You could try the Dunlop D205 tyre if you don't mind a Dunlop.

Don't too hard about it.
Give the bike a wash and a polish and sell it privately, like others
have said, you will get significantly more for it doing it that way.
Collect a great wad of cash, put on a clean shirt and go the the bike
shop and buy the one you want. Flash said cash under dealers nose to get
significant discount.
Be happy.
