I have been riding every day and my current gloves are really beginning to give
me the shits. Way too hot and no ventilation. I've tried some Rocket ones
with vents in the back and some other perforated leather jobbies but still
haven't found any that give me a decent level of protection and keep my hands
cool. Any recommendations from the world of aus.moto?

Yesterday, at PITS, a mate was showing me his new summer gloves, made of
kevlar. Apparently, when he bought a pair of Draggin pants at the M/C
show, they gave him these gloves.

They just look like a pair of knitted woolen gloves, but he thought they
were very cool and comfy.

No, he hasn't tested them.....

Sounds good. But I am guessing no knuckle protection. Then again if it keeps
the skin in one place that is half the battle. I'll check and see if I can
find them on the web.

Just browse the motorcycle accessories section at every shop you go past
till you find a pair which have some ventilation (usually in the form of
open weave stretchy material) between the fingers.

I've been riding round in some DriRider DriMesh gloves I bought before
xmas - they're definitely comfortable, but I don't think I'd really like
to fall off at any speed in them - the palms are thin supple leather,
the backs are mesh, and there's the usual cheezy "woven carbon fibre
material under clear plastic" knuckle protection (yeah, the mechanical
properties of the carbon fibre are _certainly_ being used to thir
maximum advantage there, eh?)

As a commuting glove, I'll live with the risk of scraping up my hands a
bit at traffic speeds, but I won't be wearing them down to Phillip
Island...

Most of us don't drag our knuckles on the ground. Not even when we fall off.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm becoming a big fan of DriRider stuff. I'll
check em out.

As the old saying goes, if you ask how much BMW gear is, you probably
can't afford it. Sad

That's not too bad at all. That vented helmet looks pretty crazy. I wonder
how much protection it gives?

I have been using a BMW Airflow Helmet for a few years, a really great
concept that keeps the head cooler in plus 30 degree summers in Queensland.
Imported directly from Germany.
