I'm after a new engine to power my 'cordless battery charger' which is a
large 12 volt alternator spun by a lawnmower engine, which charges the large
battery bank in the camper when needed.

i'd need something of 100cc i rekon, as the 3.5 horses of the current (ex
flymo lawnmower) engine can't handle the full load of the alternator,

It needs to be 4 stroke as it will be run on lpg, (and i don't want the
racket of a stroker) and water cooled as it lives under the floor of the
camper, and hence ventilation is not great.. plus i can tee the coolant
lines into the central heating and hot water system of the camper and
utilise the waste heat produced.

Don't suppose anyone has one hanging about, with the drive stuff (variator
and clutch etc, so i can bolt the alt. to where the wheel used to go after
taking the reduction gear out) needs to be electric start as well, and have
the electrics needed to run the engine.. or at least not need a imobilized
CDI unit to run the engine.

Or if no one has such a unit hanging about, what makes of scoot have 4
stroke water cooled engines of around 100cc's?? thinking these chinky things
that sell for pennies, but their names change daily so looking for an engine
from one on fleabay is not easy.

They deal in all manner of Chinese bike parts and may be able to sort you
out with an engine. Failing that, scour breakers for a Honda Dylan 125.
Those engines are nigh unburstable.

Anything named after an acidhead rabbit should be avoided.
