2 stroke help needed

I have a 73 hodaka combat wombat I am trying to get running. It has sat for many years, I've cleaned the tank, fresh gas, cleaned out the carb and it will start on the first or second kick. My problem is that when I start to ride it, it boggs down and almost dies, runs like the choke is on but it isn't. I can leave the gas lines open and it does not spill fuel on the floor or flood the engine, so I don't think it is my needle valve. I've very frustrated. Any ideas??

the jets have to be bad or dirty. just try to replace them and that should do the trick. very common problem
