Archived from groups: can>rec>motorcycles (more info?)

My question is if anybody knows a type of insurance I can get on my bike so
I can store it without having the regular insurance on it in the Hamilton
area. The bank requires the bike be insured due to the loan and my insurance
is about to expire and I don't really want to pay for full bike insurance at
this point while the bike is not being ridden till the summer

Thanks and please reply to newsgroup only

Mike

My experience with bike insurance, regardless of company, is that they
will only sell a one year policy. They prorate the premium so that it
is weighted to the summer months so if you cancel for the winter you get
next to nothing back.

E.G.:

January 2 %
February 4 %
March 6 %
April 10%
May 15%
June 25%
July 25%
etc.

Yes I understand this part but the key here is that right now I am a bit
strapped for cash and want to cancel or should I say let the insurance
expire onmy bike but the loan on the bike requires some kind of insurance
on it so my question is is there another type of insurance that will just
insure the bike for theft and vandalism while it is parked or is there a
facility that I can store it that has this type of insurance I have been
unable to find one

Please reply to group only
Thanks again
Mike

You "should" be able to obtain a Rider on your existing property insurance
to cover the bike.

the bank should find this feasible enough for the winter months.

I don't believe there are any insurance companies around anymore that will
give you less than a full year coverage.
