I'm going to California in June and thought I'd do some shopping while
there.
Can anyone point out some good shops to get stuff for sportbikes(ZX-6R -98
and SV1000S -04)?
Maybe a colored screen, a hugger etc. and Yoshi slipon+powercommander,
freeflow airfilter.
Preferably the kind of shops that carry lots of stuff in stock since
backordering can be ruled out.
I'll be traveling around LA, SF and Vegas.

Chaparral in San Bernardino is the biggest motorcycle emporium that I know
about...

I would expect them to have windscreens, exhausts, etc, but not high value
items like power commander...

If you are trying to buy a lot of stuff to avoid paying heavy import duties in
your own country, maybe you could order things you want by telephone or mail,
and tell Chaparral of whoever you're ordering from that you will pick it up
yourself from their "Will Call" department?

In Frisco check out Sucderia West: http://www.scuderia.com/ Just for the
Frisco style of the place. Also Cycle Gear

Other points of interest:

Royal Coffee College AV @ 63rd in Oakland Great coffee, and hangout of the
East Bay Rats MC, and other motorbike trash.

Farley's coffee on Potrero Hill 1315 18th St. (between Missouri and Texas
streets) Usually a few motorbikes out front.

The Wall: A bit of cumbling old wall, frequented by motorbikes, most
pleasent evenings. On Grizzly Peak BL a little south of Centenial, in
Oakland About dead centre on this map:

Angeles Crest HWY Thake the 2 East out of LA keep going up in to the

Do not ride LA twisties at the weekend, many CHiPs, aging frat boys on HDs,
and skilless kiddies on polished sport bikes.

Chap is by far the biggest I've ever been in. They have everything, except
Harley stuff.

Although they aren't a franchised dealer, they use to sell aftermarket
Harley parts. Did they shut down that department?

The other options would be Bert's in Azusa and, to a lesser extent, Del
Amo at I405 and Marine in Redondo Beach.

They indeed might. I never looked, so I guess I can't be for certain.
However, they have everything else, for sure.
