a straight face throughout. I was transfixed, so god-awful was it in every
respect.

But I wasn't moved to alert others to the showing last night, until the
aliens started using the word 'leverage'. Unmissable.

Indeedy, as a MingFest.

IIRC he used quite a bit of his own money to make it, as no studio
wanted to touch it with someone else's barge pole, but Travolta, as a
Scientologist, was "committed" to doing it.

"Night Of The Lepus"

An all-time classic, with only one *tiny* flaw; it should have starred
Doug McLure, but didn't. Other than that it's a natural ten in all
departments.

Crap acting: check
Preposterous storyline: Giant mutant carnivorous bunny rabbits? Are you
fucking *kidding*?? Check and further check.
Stupid, low-budget effects: check. The scene where the mutant bunnies
"attack" a railway yard is one of the funniest things you'll ever see,
as is the sequence where a bloke sticks his head round a door, screams
"they're here!" or similar, and the world's crappest giant-bunny-paw-on-
a-stick hauls him back.

I'd love to see it again.

I read most of the book, some years ago, but eventually gave up near the
end because I just couldn't bear the appalling writing, and didn't give a
toss about any of the characters. I'm not at all surprised that the film
of such a bad book is truly dreadful.
