What year and exact model is it? The F650 has been around for years
now, in a variety of styles, high seat models, low seat models, Dakar
models, Enduro models and even street fighter models recently.

It has a high-quality Austrian Rotax engine in it. Aprilia also made
their version of the F650, as I recall. >> Stay informed about: Oh, for pete's sake! |

Sorry, I needed another cup of coffee before my
reading comprehension was up to snuff. I realized
after I read your post again that you said "_not_
a boxer twin". D'oh!
And the F800 is a parallel twin not a boxer.

The F650 is getting out of the shaft drive comfort zone already.

Aww...they fixed mine so I had to give it back. Mine handles better
anyway. That thing wanted a lot of input to keep it turning, and I'm
lazy. But you're right. Problem child needs to go.

I had a loaner F650 a while ago that was chain driven. This one was belt

I don't have any 'whimsical awful' (is that even English?) books to flog.
What I do have is a short book of horror stories, two of which have won
awards. Hope I cleared that up for you. Like my new sig file, bitch?
It pwns Scientology!
And what is offensive about gypsies? Historically, palm reading and
curse removal has been, and still is their stock in trade. Oh, bodywork,
driveway sealing and roofing as well...

We're in a Bay Area newsgroup, and bound to run into squalls of
Political Correctness. Some people are offended by the term "gypsy,"
which may or may not incorporate a belief that people of this ethnicity
tend to defraud those outsiders with whom they do business. I believe
the currently favored term is "the Rom," as one of the concentrations of
these people is in Romania.
I find the obsolescence of ethnic identifiers amusing: although one
wouldn't dare use the terms to describe the intended beneficiaries of
these groups, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored
People and the United Negro College Fund are still very much in business.
The identification of ethnic groups with vocations is also infra dig.
notwithstanding my patronage of a Chinese laundry and an Arab grocery
when I lived in SF.
No matter what agency you find to cure your bike (perhaps a shaman at
Sycuan, now that we've voted to let them expand their operations), I
hope that it is healed of its tendency to run up your expenses.

In our "politically correct" country, identifying anybody by ethnic
group is considered so rude and ignorant that if O.J. Simpson had been
seen fleeing the scene of his crime, he could not have been described
by his race.
To me, calling a gypsy a "gypsy" is not the least bit offensive, it's
what they claimed they were 600 years ago.
Gypsy: Alteration of Middle English gypcian, short for Egipcien,
Egyptian (so called because Gypsies were thought to have come from
Egypt)
Romany: romani, feminine of romano, gypsy, from rom, man, from Prakrit
