reading the reviews, most of the people who don't like it don't like
The Algebraist either[1]. Since I really liked that book, this bodes
well for the new one.

Robert's "Splinter", when I noticed a signed (no. 701 out of 1000!!!)
limited edition box set of the hardback + the hardback of the Jules
Verne book ("Off on a Comet") which was the inspiration for Robert's
book. £20, but a nicely bound and printed set.
