netiquette and the OT thing

Okay, this has been bugging me.
I think everybody needs to stop using the OT thing on the front of
their headers.
Why?
Because it seems that every OT thread re-appears without the OT thing.

So, we have one thread that's "OT-kitten rescue" and another thread
that's just "kitten rescue". I guess it's just someone pulling the OT
off when they reply, but it doesn't seem to be the same person each
time (as I originally thought).

so, WTF?

FYI, stick to TLA's. IMO, we should use OTP (off-topic post),
