So I went down to the garage to jot down the numbers on all of the
engine bearings so I can make a trip to the bearing shop tomorrow. I
had to come back in the house to get a magnifying glass. I couldn't
read the numbers on the smaller bearings clearly enough to be
positive.

Downhill from here...

Welcome! You need glasses.

I bought about 20 pair at the Dollar Store for a buck a pair. I keep
one set on the work bench, another in the truck, the car, the house,
coat pocket and etc. Buy your first pair cheap, you'll lose them or
break them.

I had to get bifocals because I was ordering the wrong parts at the
motorcycle shop. There was no denying it.

I'm not ready to accept that. The lighting was bad and the bearing was
really small!

I just walked over to the eye department here at work and scheduled an
exam for later today. We'll see.

Just wait till you find out it wasn't the eye department that you made
an appointment in...
When they have you put your feet in the Stirupps...you can start to
worry.

Neener, neener...

I'll be 50 in May. Still with single correction glasses. At -8 diopters, I
can pull my glasses off and reading the numbers on the smallest jets (with a
focal range between 4 and 4.5" Smile

With my contacts in, I've resorted to reading glasses for the past 2 years.
One set in the garage, one at work, on in the kitchen.... This is a big
reason I'm reluctant to look into Lasik.

Speaking from experience? Wink

Good news and bad news on the eyes.

The good news is that I still have 20/20 vision both near and far, so
apparently last night was related to eye strain, poor light, etc. My
near vision may have gone from really great to just great.

The bad news is that my intraocular pressure is "borderline high" and
my optic nerves look "suspicious." Those issues are related to
glaucoma. More testing scheduled for next week. Neither seemed to
scare the eye doctor, so I guess it's just something I'll have to, uh,
keep an eye on.

go see a cardio doctor, sometimes eye pressure is used to diagnose
high blood pressure, or at least, that's what cardio doctor told my
21yo brother who already has very high blood pressure.

As part of the eye exam they checked my blood pressure. I forget the
numbers, but the tech said "couldn't be better" so I guess that's OK.

I suggest you retake the test. Study a little harder this time.

I had a different kind of test yesterday. Never had anything like it. It
involved this necklace:

At least the Dr's hands were warm.
