Well, it was a balmy (or is that barmy???) night on Saturday as the
temperature was rather mild compared to some recent ones....

With about 100 or so started the ride left Somerton and headed off to
Cardinia via Yarra Glen and Packenham. At the first stop, hot soup and
coffee was greeted not by frozen fingers and toes but by a warm bunch of
riders....I was wondering if an ice cream machine could have been better

The next leg went to Drouin, Poowong and along the Strezlecki to the Lang
Lang servo. I must say that riding this leg was a tad nerve wrecking with a
spot of rain having been through before us and leaving some damp spots here
and there not to mention that this is a windy road best ridden during
daylight hours...well , for me anyway

The last leg went from Lang Lang to the Frankston Yacht club via Flinders.
This leg saw the temperature drop considerably with my choice to change
gloves from lightish winter material types to heavier leather ones a welcome
one

All in all it was a good ride with some twisty bits, some long straight bits
and no rain to talk off except for the odd light sprinkle two three times
during the whole ride
The winner of the most riders was the Shearwater Ulysses. A couple of offs,
one rider from Deniliquin and the oldest was a 65yo and the youngest 16 (who
got a lift in a sidecar)....

cheers
