As we plebs have slept the law has become a wicked evil mean trap. If you
don't have your motorcycle endorsement and are stopped, you will be charged
with effectively no license even if you have a regular dl. What this means
is if you are in town, you will be issued a city fine of however much they
determine. Then you will get a notice from the state that you have also
violated their law of operating a vehicle without a license, and to pay a
fee of about $104. Then on the anniversary of that notice you will get
another notice to pay another $104. On that notice it will say that you're
going to get another one in the next year, and you will pay them $312 total
over 3 years. Unless they've raised the rate. Another way they will abuse
you is with a helmet fine. If you have full coverage insurance it should
meet the requirements under the law. If you get a no helmet fine, a copy of
your declarations page presented to the judge should get a not guilty plea. >> Stay informed about: Texas law |

See there, all this time you thought you knew the law.
Full coverage insurance hasn't dick to do with whether you can ride
without a helmet. If you have no medical insurance and no endorsement
on your DL, you're in violation twice for the helmet law....assuming
you're riding without a helmet.
One more reason to stop your sleeping and start doing something.
Support your local activists group and start knowing your laws.

I hope he also understands that his auto policy does not cover his
motorcycle. You must have motorcycle insurance.

You don't think....
What's next, use your homeowners insurance for medical coverages? Use
a fishing license for flying airplanes?

I had a friend of mine try that in Arkansas a few years back. He was
pulled over and handed the Arkansas State Trooper his car insurance.
The state trooper asked for his motorcycle insurance. He told him that
his auto policy covered him in whatever he was driving and he argued
with the cop about it. Bottom line was he recieved several tickets and
his bike was impounded. He also didnt have a MC license and his
drivers license was suspended in New Mexico and it didnt help that he
had the tag and inspection sticker from my Kawasaki Ninja on his
Kawasaki Ninja.

No...The cop kept it but he did let me have my inspection sticker
back. I didnt really need the tag because I already had it replaced.
One of the corners were broken off so the only thing I needed WAS the
inspection sticker. The cop said " Well I guess this is going to mess
you up on riding your other bike hu? " I told him only the inspection
sticker but I could have a new one in 10 minutes.

Really, I didn't know that. But, since I never ride without

Allow me to explain.
It is so insulated with styro foam stuffin, that it keeps ones ''top of
head'' warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Cuts down on wind noise, and the loudness of some folks ''straights''.
