It is really dumb to listen to closed quarters music
inside your helmet
There are too many things going on as you ride to be
distracted by music.
Your brain can't do 2 things at the same time.
Forget the music and maybe you will live longer. >> Stay informed about: OK, now that I know it's illegal... |

Well, even though the pantheon includes good and bad and major and
minor gods, I somehow think the little twerp didn't make the cut.
Perhaps Krusty's problem stems from consuming too much Mercury.

Yours might not but most people's can. I don't think it's dumb at all and
have done it safely for many years. Do you want radios removed from cars
too. Perhaps it should be illegal to talk to a passenger!

How would a police officer know you had headphones built into your helmet?
If I am listening to my IPod (which I don't do much of, while riding
anymore), I always run the wires under my shirt or jacket, so it can't be
seen. If I get pulled over for some egregious motoring offense, I simply
unplug the wires and drop them down my shirt. Also, I keep my IPod in a
fanny pack, or in the plastic section of a tank bag. I can cover it with a
"map" easily, if pulled over.

I prefer loud pipes to being forced to listen to someone else's hillbilly or
rap "music" blaring from their motorcycles 1000 watt sound system.

I was really just trying to make the point that if you Google for
"motorcycle sound system" or "motorcycle stereo" or "Motorcycle
speakers" or "handlebar mounted stereo" that you would quickly and
easily find something that might be along the lines of what the op was
looking for.
Or maybe not. >> Stay informed about: OK, now that I know it's illegal... |

Even though it is illegal in Virginia, it is unlikely in the extreme
that one would be pulled over and ticketed for wearing headphones or
earbuds or having helmet mounted speakers. If one were pulled over
for something else and failed to lower the volume or remove the
earbuds (or one of them) or let the officer clearly see that you were,
in fact, listening to music with a dual speaker in-helmet system, you
just *might* get a ticket.
Otoh, some people don't want to do somethign that they know is
illegal, even if they aren't likely to get caught or penalized for it.

I don't think the $ 26 / pair ( actual retail price ) of
Blaupunkt 4" PCX402 speakers they sell could take 1,000 watts.
