What is the best way to get road grime cleaned from boots? And what
about the ever annoying bubble gum off the soles?

Cook up a steak, rub the boots with the juices then have your dog
lick them clean;)

As to the bubble gum, ABC gum is always tasty. Ever heard that old
song, "Does your chewing gum lose it's flavor, on the bedpost
overnight"? For dog shit, coat the bottoms with lighter fluid, set
ablaze, wait about 30 seconds, then stomp the remnant off on concrete

Anything else?

The same product I use for the seat and tires on my bike- Armor All! (I do
lose passengers from time to time though)

Yeah, what about bug stains on leathers? Oil/road grime from helmets?

A one-eyed whore named Sandpaper Sally spit-shines mine for two bits
every Thursday.

She doesn't do windows, though.

Well, I just pour out about 5 lbs/ of Kitty Litter on the floor of the
garage and start kickin' it around. That way my boots and the garage floor
are fresh as the day is long.
Another technique is to drag my feet on freshly rained on roads, scraping
off any unwanted peg slime in the process of evaluating the available
traction.
