Well, most anyway..
SB, Mat was on and even had Ben not got hurt he might not have had much for
his teammate. All things considered, it could have been a hell of a lot
worse weekend for Spies than it was.. Absolutely great stuff from Miggy, he
rode the tires off the Honda, they may have finally found the right
direction. A lot of the guys are ridin' for a job these days and If Duc does
take a powder, MJ might get a top rider or two next year. We'll see..
SSport, it was a wrap for Jamie when Roger Lee puked, but it was a pretty
much done deal anyway..
SStock, the R1 is as good in this class as the Yosh bike is in SB. Great
racin' between Hacking and EBoz too..
FX, the Honda's still got the beans on the Yam, great dicin' between Eric
and Josh, FX was prolly the best race of the weekend..
Great crowd, decent weather(hot) and Murphy does know how to put on an
event, the only off note were the high sides, oil on the track I guess...
Tweakville, Panozburg, err, R/A next, c'ya there... >> Stay informed about: and a good time was had by all... (VIR spoila) |

As always, I'm late watching these things -- been so busy.
Anyway, FX has been some of the best racing past couple of races, and last
race was by far no exception. It's just going to get closer I think, if you
can imagine that.
It's the best championship run of the year as well. All 3 guys are a
heartbeat away from the championship, and that gets them all really
motivated. It's basically between Josh and Eric. DiSalvo has been close, but
not really on pace all season, with Eric and Josh clawing their way up
through the points, particularly Eric after his miserable 200 and disaster
at Barber. Both Josh and Eric are REALLY hungry for a championship, and both
can do it. I wonder if Josh will race at the Toyota 200 at Willow with the
final in Mid-Ohio still looming. I wonder if he thinks it's worth the risk
that something stupid won't happen at that race that might hurt him for
Mid-Ohio. If he wins Road Atlanta, I bet he won't race Willow.
Hell, Mats a fighter, but he's as much as given up in SB, and Ben can pretty
much coast home if he's healthy enough for R/A. It's by no means settled, 3
races to go, a lot can happen (as demonstrated last week), but Ben has a
comfortable lead and mostly needs to keep Miguel behind him, and he'll
probably come home with the trophy. I was impressed at Jamies fight in
SStock, he had no reason to push that hard, but did anyway -- good for him.
But FX is going to come down to the wire...again. Dunno if it's going to be
a season closer like last year, but at least this year it's two different
makes up front fighting it out.

That could well happen, but I kinda like Eric to run away at the last two,
we'll see..

Tell you what, Mat looked emaciated at Danville, not good at all and
hopefully it was nothing more than a virus. That said, I still like Ben, but
like you said, it ain't over yet!

FX is turning into the slug fest we always wanted SB to be, curious, huh? >> Stay informed about: and a good time was had by all... (VIR spoila) |

Yup me too, I think that would be great. But boy wouldn't the last round be
just that much more interesting if Josh leapfrogged Eric at R/A going into
Mid-Ohio with a 2 point lead instead of Eric with an 8 point lead...That, I
assert is a different race.

I haven't seen handlebar banging like we've been seeing in FX past two years
since the last time I went and watched Speedway at the fairgrounds! Though
Mat's bit of heroism going Deeeeeppp in to turn 1 in Race 2 was quite the
spectacle. It's good to see him fighting.
In truth, SB is the slugfest that we love, it's just happening down around
4-8th mixing up the Hondas, Ducs, and Kawi's. The race for position in both
Fontana races were great to watch when we were there, even as Ben, Mat and
Jake ran 1-2-3 spread across 30-40 secs. Ben and Mat have been in a world of
their own all year, but the action is there a ltitle deeper in the field.

A pole point fight?

I'm tellin' you, he did not look good last week, like he lost 10lbs., or so
and was real drawn. Hmm, maybe he's just on the Dani diet...

Well, that too, but it's been kinda cool to see Hodgy gettin beat up on.
Latest word on him is that he really wants to stay in the States, I wonder
why? >> Stay informed about: and a good time was had by all... (VIR spoila) |

Going cold turkey on them damned donuts is brutal! But if you ever want
to make it to GP these days, you've just got to have the discipline like
those EuroMeds. On the rare occasions when those team managers are out
scouting, they're always looking for the telltale signs - the flakes of
glaze at the corners of the mouth, the chocolate sprinkles stuck to the
front of the leathers... >> Stay informed about: and a good time was had by all... (VIR spoila) |
