I wondered what would happen when you heard that Honda were stopping
production of BlackBirds...
now I see the shock was just too much and it drove you over the edge! [1]

Congrats.
I'm curious as to why you went with the XB12X as compared to it's
competitors ? Care to share ?
No implication it's a bad bike, I've just gained the impression that
some of its competitors were a better value proposition.

hmmm...hadn't really been keeping up with the market lately, so this one
slipped past me...but it does look rather promising, I must say! Very
nice choice. What do they go for? >> Stay informed about: So I finally joined the Ulysses club.. |

Would it be rude to ask how many of these you're going to go through
till you find one you like?

It might be something to do with the number of X's in the model designation?

I've been thinking about getting a dual-sports bike for a few years. I
just saw some photos of it and liked what I saw and read some good
reviews. The upright position gives it a comfortable ride, the big wide
bars give plenty of control on unsealed roads -even with the 17" front
wheel- and with a shorter wheelbase and steeper rake angle than most
Japanese supersports bikes it doesn't mind hooking into a corner on the
bitumen either, so it's right down the sportier end of the scale as far
as that style of bike goes.

Some are, some aren't. V-Stroms are very good value for money in the
same market, that's why every k*nt's got one. Buell have dropped quite
a bit off the price to run out the '07 models and possibly will keep the
lower RRP when the '08 models arrive. I didn't really investigate the
price of it's competitors, I was too busy talking myself into buying one

I'm not far off.. I can _just_ touch the ground with toe tips. I'm
budgeting for the suspension to settle a bit over time and give me a
better reach. Fortunately this year's model has seat almost 2 inches
lower than the '06 version. I'd have Buckley's chance of reaching the
ground on that.
