A big Texas howdy to you all. I have just moved to a little place not
too far outside of the Dallas Fort Worth area and figured I'd join you
fine folks in this biker group.
My name is Corey and I drive an old Honda 750 Custom.
Lookin forward to sharing a few road stories with ya.

| Those are some good links Beemer Biker. The Ride Texas one lists a lot
of rides. If I had my bike here I would join that Mesquite Toy Run. It
is close by.
Do you guys ever get together to ride somewhere?

I was around in the days of Sputnik and just a few days ago saw a tv
show about it.
It just sounded good.
I have never heard of anyone called Sputnik. >> Stay informed about: New to Texas |

Maybe you should research your own bullshit before throwing it
out...Mesquite's *well known* for their oil fields. We have so many, it's
hard to keep track of them all!!!

Sputnik (ours) has held his name for many, many years and he finally went to
court to drop his last name to be known only as Sputnik.. got his first
drivers license after many years of not having one..
Last January when Texas legislative session opened in Austin, we appeared at
a committee meeting to give testimony.. The lady was registering everyone
and when Sputnik told her his name, she asked him what his last name.. He
replied that he didn't have such a thing as a last name.. She made him
produce identification with his picture to prove this his legal name was
Sputnik.. The poor lady got all flustered and had to go and ask someone if
it was legal..
Later .. Sputnik looked over his shoulder at all of us and grinned.. "Guess
it's a good thing I got this freakin' drivers license, huh ?
Almost any direction that you travel from the DFW metroplex, you will find
good riding areas.. West you will run into the edges of our Hill Country..
North, you will find interesting and neat riding near and just north of the
Oklahoma state line.. East is the Piney Woods area .. And South there are
some of the neatest little towns in our United States.. All within 2 1/2
hours ride from DFW.. Depending on whether you enjoy the ride or the
destination, seems to be something in any direction for anyone..
Gathering places are pretty plentiful, also and scatterred throughout the
metroplex.. Good luck to you..

Wanna bet?
The dude(et) is trying to say he's here in Texas on business in the oil
field supply business. He's trying to say he's in Mesquite. He's using
Sputnik, Outrider00, and Outrider for an alias.
We'll see how he wants to play it... >> Stay informed about: New to Texas |

Between the Edmonton location, the telus.net dialup account, the

mention of the Mesquite toy run (as opposed to any other ride)....it's
plenty obvious. We seem to go through this once a year or so. I guess in
about a month or two, we'll have people threatening to burn other people's
homes down and pay them a visit with their friends. Then we can expect the
famous challenges of who can out ride who, then followed by the famous "no
show" crowd.
Let's sit back and see how this one plays out though...okay? >> Stay informed about: New to Texas |
