Heh, with the '93 FXR I'm perfectly happy with a 65-70MPH top sustained
cruising speed. Faster than that and I'm struggling too much against the
wind with just a sport windshield (or without if I have it removed for that
matter).
I'm contemplating a bigger shield with lowers on the forks, and a 6 in a 5
conversion. Not only to make some long distance runs at lowered RPMs, but
also because most folks around here do 10 over the 65 max where posted.
Not that I need to keep up, but I don't want to get run over either. I sure
wish the cops would do something about tailgating. Speeding isn't the real
problem. It's lack of manners and ignorance of, or non-compliance with the 3
second rule.
Well that, and (some, if not most) cell phone users. I like to slow down to
the limit, then 5 under when I have a cell phone user tailgating me in the
cage. It's a test to see if they're paying attention, based on how long they
will drive at reduced speed. Hey, I'm rarely in a hurry. It's scary how long
some of them will ride my ass at 50 in a 55 when the passing lane is wide
open.
Spanky
I've got this round.
