I've got this weekend in town, it's showing (according to the Weather
Channel) to be between 55 and 68 degrees this weekend with partly to
mostly sunny skies. I've got to wipe on my motorcycle just slightly and
I'll be ready to put a few hundred miles on it.
Anyone game? I'm looking for non-interstate type riding with some
curves. I'll be starting my ride from my house in Mesquite (since
that's where the soap and water is at...anyone who wants to borrow some
is welcome, just squirt a little of that soap/water on mine while I
watch you clean) Saturday morning.
Let's stop all this talking about riding and get to it! >> Stay informed about: Okay boys and girls...LET'S RIDE!!! |

Hey guy..... I may be up for that. Another friend and I are thinking
of riding Sat. or Sunday as well. I was planing on heading towards
Palo Pinto, though. Got some people out there I haven't seen in a
while.
What time are y'all taking off?

I was hoping you'd be one of the ones to respond. I was looking at
setting out sometime in the morning (time really isn't important...just
as long as it's not cold/snowy/too dark to see) and probably heading
somewhere west out of the way of traffic.
Let me know what you're up for. I'd rather the usual "ride it like you
own it, don't bitch about others, don't drop others" sort of ride. >> Stay informed about: Okay boys and girls...LET'S RIDE!!! |

I don't have anything specific in mind. I'm just looking at doing some
riding. I was thinking of heading somewhere west, maybe Hico and slip
into Cranfills Gap. I hear they might have some fresh pie this weekend
out there. Interested in some pie? >> Stay informed about: Okay boys and girls...LET'S RIDE!!! |

Brian explains how he intends to ride:

Well, shoot, I am too far away, to make a Saturday ride, with ya, good
buddy.
But, I tend to think it is a good thing, because the ''riding style''
you've layed out, would be too much for this ole RN Biker. Especially
the part about ''dont drop others'', that is too serious, I like riding
and looking and stopping and fartin’ around.

I thought it was "ride it like you stole it."
I'm still trying to figure things out. Work is being a bear right now
and I'm not sure if my friend got his chain / sprocket on his bike,
yet.

When we were riding in Europe we would split up into our sub-groups.
I tended to hang with some guys that liked to ride really fast, to the
point of being "out of control" and on the dangerous side for the
roads we were on.
In any case, we had one of their friends with us and we made a general
rule of thumb that worked great - ride at your own pace (whether
hell-bent or at a moderate pace) and if we decided to take a turn then
we'd wait at that intersection. Otherwise you were on your own.
It worked out quite well with two exceptions:
1 - don't do it with newbies
2 - don't do it with people that feel they have to keep up.

Dublin DP and some pie sounds kick ass. That's definitely an all day
ride. I was thinking about taking a new chickie babe, and I'm not
sure if she could handle those types of miles.
I'll try to find out some more info.

are complaining about how others ride. >> Stay informed about: Okay boys and girls...LET'S RIDE!!! |

It *is*, but I didn't want to be accused of not being a "team player"

She doesn't weigh more than you, does she?
I'm not looking for high miles, just something to get the air out on
it. I'm thinking about 200 miles or so and then turn it in for the day
before dark.

Hate to admit, but it's the ole redneck honesty in me, ''No''! No one
has.
I dont claim to know it all.
On this most informative MC discussion group, that I take pride in being
in the top 5 most active regulars, you, Brian are the first I've read on
here to state that phrase.
So, yes, please tell me. I am here to learn, and share. Hope you are

Yes, and in order to hit the road,I suspect you must need a pocket full
