gotta question on a S&S 88

1800 mile and all of a sudden I have oil leaking around the carb area.

Dealer says thats common it's just blow by and we have a special mod for it.

anyone else have this problem?
Is it that common?

I had a old sporty years ago and never had that problem, I just had every
other problem with it.
So much for AMF...

Blow by is common with EVOs. I wouldn't really call
it a problem. Happens more if you run 'em hard up in
the higher revs. I wouldn't (and haven't) bother
with getting 'the fix' for it. It's not hurting
anything.

Reroute your breather lines to a catch can. Or, down below
the bike to a small filter if ya don't mind dripping a little
oil onto the planet.

Wait a minute... I just noticed something:

Never mind. I don't know nothin' about those special,
super exclusive "Indian" motors. Please disregard.

the scout has an S&S 88" motor
the chief is the one with the new motor. It kinda looks as if it has bottle
caps.

A couple years back Indian had a website saying they were alive and
doing business. Then I found another website more recently that
proports to describe its final descent into legal hell with any and
everything of value associated with the "Indian (tm)" name having a
legal lien against it.

So what's the status of Indian(tm) right now?
