The mighty V Twin Ducati [YES it has restictors fitted in it too] with
the least BHP and smallest race budget just keeps on powering on and
smashing the 4's....

Bayliss is like fine wine just keeps getting better and better with
age...

Is a GP [Sete's] seat back in the equation?Perhaps the 07' 800's GP
bikes will suit him?

You can stick your GSX,,FIRESHITBOX,,R1KX blahahaha clones

1st June the all new benchmark KING of 4 cyls. from Ducati hits the
market...

Forza Ducati Forza Bayliss!!

Indeed, Lanzi is green needs more time, but yeah glad to see the back
of Hodgson and Toseland, HOPELESS, the pair of them, and very *weak*
W/Champions to boot.

> I doubt we`ll see Bayliss back in GP. He`s 37 you know....

Jeremy McWilliams was well over 40 and setting poles in GP's, so yeah
if Bayliss was smart [he races and wins on a Duke it proves yes] he
*may* have written something in his contract along the lines of:

"I win you the SBK Championship, you give me back my MotoGP ride"

The *compact* GP 800cc might be right down his alley, and Sete has lost
the plot doubt he will be on board in 07'

......Less of course # 46 will make the jump to Ducati [We live in
hope.....]

Sad for Ducati that Valentino is now totally pissed off......We about

Liar.

How can you compare a factory team with those which are privately run
teams. Sort of like comparing the factory Ducatis (all 2 of them) with
the rest of the non-factory Dukes, which just happen to be languishing
somewhere down the back, along with that Lanzi chap, who just happens to
be riding a factory bike.

As for the tech. aspects of the bikes, obviously the Ducati's
power/weight ratio must be as good if not better than the 4 cyl bikes,
otherwise it wouldn't be able to perform as well.

Let Ducati have its 1,200cc. Let's see full factory support for the
other bikes, with no mechanical handicaps, and let's see where the cards
fall.

Maybe. But he's also racing against those whose corks have spoiled,
Corser aside.

Like the "benchmark" version that's doing somewhat poorly in MotoGP,
perhaps?

Personally, I think that the Ducatis that Lanzi and Bayliss are running
should be banned. And force them onto the same bikes as the non-factory
riders are running. You know, something that is closer to the street
bikes that this championship is supposed to be about.

See how quick they are then...

No, it doesn't.

Read the regs on

www.fim.ch

No restrictors for anyone, but the fours are limited to stock throttle
body assemblies.

For twins, throttle bodies are free.

From section 2.4.4.1 of the World Superbike/Supersport/Supersport
Technical Regulations:

For 1000cc Twins and Three cylinder up to 900cc:

-Carburation instruments must be used unmodified either as the original
homologated carburation instrument or as
the_homologated_optional_carburation_instrument._
-The only modifications allowed to the homologated carburation
instruments original or optional are... throttle valves, fuel injectors
and bell mouths.

....

-There is no limit for the intake size of an engine equipped either by
carburettors or fuel injection systems.

From Section 2.4.4.2:

For 1000cc Three- and Four Cylinders

- The original homologated carburation instruments must be used un-modified.
-The use of optional homologated carburation instruments is not allowed.
-The fuel injectors may be replaced, however they must fit without
modification to the homologated throttle body.

There you have it.

Ducati have the option of designing a special race throttle body of
optimum diameter and profile, with optimally-positioned injectors.

The Japanese manufacturers are stuck with what the stock bikes use.

Either way, though, no restrictors, for anyone.
