I'm looking for the old formula Yamaha Carb Cleaner. Bottle looks
like: http://www.randakks.com/Yamaha%20Carburetor%20Cleaner.jpg

Part # ACC-CARBC-LE-QT or ACC-CARBC-LE-NR.

The old stuff contained 2-Butoxyethanol and Xylene, the new stuff
contains Glycol Ethers and Xylene.

The old stuff is what I'm looking for. Said to mix 1:3 with
gasoline. New stuff is diluted with water (no good).

If anyone has a spare bottle or two or know where I could find it,
would be forever in your debt.

Shoot me an email if you have any or know of a source.

Many thanks.

Is there a UK equivalent of this magic Berrymans B12 stuff?

Anyone know exactly what's in it?

I am in Canada and its not available here either. Basically its Zylene
and Tylene and there are card cleaners available here with similar
contents. Its not a throat body cleaner though.

There's nothing "magical" about organic solvents. They dissolve gum and
varnish, but not calcium carbonate deposits.

Yes.

www.berrymanproducts.com

Toluene 40-50%
Methanol 20-30%
Acetone 20-30%
Methyl Ethyl Ketone 1-5%

Bet it runs a little rough when you put that in the tank!

If you can't find Berryman's, you might look for original Gumout, I think it
is called Carb. & Choke cleaner. I believe it still comes in a spray or
liquid.

If you are wanting to do an off-bike, disassembled cleaning, visit your
local auto parts store. They might be able to provide something even
better. Look for instructions that includes: "Wear rubber gloves and eye
protection when using." or similar. Wink

Try "lacquer thinner" from the paint department of a hardware store (or the
paint & hardware department of your Wal-Mart equivalent). It's a witch's
brew of organic solvents (perusing the ingredients list on the can is an
education on what you don't want to inhale...).

Heh! I'm fairly sure that at least one of the ingredients has been banned in
the UK, possibly just for sale to the public: methyl ethyl ketone.

You've spoiled my illusions now; I thought it was made by wizards.

B12 *is* made by wizards. They are called "chemical engineers".

Look for "plastic solvent" or similar at a hobby/model shop. In the U.S.,
that's usually pure MEK. Actually welds styrene.

So it *is* magic then.
