I need to go to Wudi. I'm in North East, MD. I'd hate to make the drive
alone. Anybody in my general area want to 'carpool'?

Assuming you're serious... WUDI will be near Hot Springs, Arkansas
on the last weekend in February I believe. The way I understand it
WUDI was the brainchild of Jim Cook to get RMDers together and riding
in the winter months. There's no entry fee and the pace is whatever
you're comfortable with. It's not a race, just a friendly riding
get-together. At least that's how I understand it. Contact Jim or
visit this website for additional info:

Not exactly a "brainchild", but rather the result of me being a
smartass about about jeb's being snowed in and needing a riding fix.
I just didn't know just how serious jeb was about riding. <G>

When he (jeb) called me on it, Stewart was gracious enough to help us
out as a guide, up at Chadwick. We had a ball!
We had so much fun, that we just kept on doing it, and invited
everyone else who wants to have a bit of midwinter fun to join in.
.. A side benefit to all of this is that I've had so much fun, and
gotten to meet so many good people, and made lifelong friends in the
deal. Talk about good luck.
I almost feel guilty, for reaping so many benefits from being a
smartass. <G>

Jeb ought to be getting the credit, not me. I'm just a
"facilitator". (instigator Smile

Steve,

That is indeed the route we'll be taking. Dave (XR650L_Dave) is going to
be riding w/me from my place, and I'm not sure that we'll want to cram 3
in my regular cab truck for another ~700 miles. There's a cap on the truck
though... plenty of room back there...

Convoy?

"Looks like we got us a convoy."
Ah, the joy of one hit wonders!

I think I can do that. Who knows, someone else from this area might
just go, too.

Hey, Steve, welcome to the convoy. Since my L that's gonna be on the
trailer is registered, I thought of jokingly offering to take it off
the trailer and ride from Tennessee to Wudi to make room for you, but
wisely thought that I might be taken seriously!
I might be tempted to with the stock gearing (15-45) but with 13-48,
no way!

I think its only fair that Craig gets to be the Duck. (Is that too
transparent a suck-up? heck no, I'm gonna be in the car with him for
2-3 days, no way you can suck-up too much).

Damn you! I had finally gotten that song out of my head after posting that

Do it! The L makes a great touring bike...

We can cram 3 bikes on the trailer, it's the 3 in the truck that gets
crowded. We were gonna do that to Wudi last year before the weather
wrecked our plans, but after doing it on a much shorter ride trip (3.5
hours each way), I realized that there's no way I'm riding that way for
that long...

Yes, you can. Stay on your side of the truck, OK?
