I think the implications of Mad Cow are pretty far reaching. Most foreign
countries have already stopped importing US beef as a result of this
incident. And not only is the beef industry affected, but the poultry and
pork industry are reportedly feeling some fallout. Latest news was that the
affected cow was improted from Canada a few years ago, so the investigation
has taken on an international scope.
On an off- road note, I remember when 'hoof and mouth' hit the UK a couple
of years ago. It really affected the trials riding community as most rural
riding venues were shut down in an attempt to stop the disease from
spreading. I wonder where this MC thing will lead.
Time to consider becoming a vegetarian.
