| Hello from Wudi - Had a great ride today. Weather was perfect. Trails were in great shape. Lots of water puddles here and there, just enough to make things Jim got to the motel about 5am and we woke him up by 7:30. That was a sight. He led 2 loops today. 40..

Good deal.
We're having the hardest time pulling everything together. It was icy
and cold Sunday after our ride. Monday icy and cold. Tuesday had
dinner plans with friends... so finally it'e Wednesday and it's about
25 degrees, but I have to wash that muddy bike and begin final prep
for WUDI. so I'm our there in the cold washing a way... but I have a
good cold weather technique. Build up about 1/4 inch of ice on bike...
hit with hammer... ice falls off taking dirt with it.  So right
about then my wife rolls up the drive. She's like "couldn't you do
that tomorrow when it's warmer?" I'm like "We are going out for
Valentine's day tomorrow." She's like "you know the driveway is going
to freeze". I'm thinking... "So what, I've got to get this thing ready
for WUDI???" So after I wash it up, I change the rear tire... notice
the rear bearings are dry and a bit rough. I cleaned and greased them
(no air spin faiilure here) and re-installed them. Also noticed the
kevlar brakes I bought off EBay and installed last week have an actual
life expectancy of about 17 miles... they are toast. So before
Valentine's Day dinner, I get to run over to Lexington and pick up
some rear brake pads and rear wheel bearings if they have them.
John's having last minuteitis too. He took his suspension in Wednesday
to get some valving and springs. He askled the owner... "now you are
sure you can get this done in time?"... don't jack with me. I've got
to have it back. Owner said no problem. We'll see? Also his motorhome
is somewhere in North Carolina and he (or we?) have to trek over there
and get it sometime (Friday/Saturday?)... if the weather will clear
long enough.
I can easily see this going down to the wire this time. I normally
would have had my bike all prepped and packed in cosmoline and ready
to go by now. I worry I'm going to wind up like some of my friends.
AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GET ON A PLANE... Lucky b@$+@^D.

Jim says he has a GG200 lined up for me, but bring the 300 along just
in case 
I trust Mr. Cook will have the 200 in fine shape. A spare for us
