Hi Ya'll!
There are no titty bars in Arkadelphia/Caddo Valley. One has to go
North to Hot Springs for that. (and the Thorobred track, Oaklawn
Park)
Food and several places to stay are available at Caddo Valley. Some
are cheaper than the Holiday Inn, even with the special deal for Wudi6
attendees.
There is a bed and breakfast, The Barr50, on Hwy 84, just about a 10
minute drive from the property. It is reasonable, and I believe they
have cabins, a lodge, and rooms above the stables. It is located just
south of the riding area, about 7 miles away through the woods. The
horse trails join with the riding area, but I don't know exactly
where.

I checked mileage today. It is approximately 12 miles from
Caddo Valley to Bismark, and 1.4 miles from the 84/7 intersection at
Bismark to the turn-off of State Hwy 7 onto the road leading to the
Property.
It is about 4.7 miles to the campground from Hwy 7
It takes me 30 minutes to get from Caddo Valley to the campground.
Do the speed limit. The whole of hwy 7 north is a speed trap. It take
30 mintes at the posted speed limit.
From all the hotels/motels in Hot Springs, it takes about 25
minutes, except for the Vagabond and the Clarion (16 minutes).
The Knights Inn, next to Majic Springs, on Hwy 70 East, is
$39.95/night, and has secure parking. It takes me about 28 minutes to
get to the Property from there.
I posted a "route sheet" to get to the ride on rmd just a little
while ago. It contained suggestions for the ride, and ended with a
short ride report.
I'm marking the three loops directionally.
Basically "one way traffic".
I figure this will cut down on accidental head-ons. If someone knows
that they are riding backwards on the trail, they should only go fast
enough to make the riding easy, and keep a good look ahead.
The area is open to public recreation. We are liable to be shareing
the trails will horsback riders, hikers, atvs, and mountain bike
riders. Standard trail ettiqette applies.
We will have "Bail Out Points" marked with cards, and cards along the
roads at intersections, showing the directions to camp by the road.
At every intersection on the trail, on the direction needed to go, we
tied a 3" wide ribbon. Often , we tied another just down the trail, in
plain sight from the turn. We didn't put any ribbon between possible
turns.
The first loop is okay to ride without a guide, if one keeps an eye
out for "the rut", possible turns, and flags of yellow Moose Track
ribbon on the trees.
Because of logging, it is suggested that the second and third loops
..be be ridden in "guided tours" the first time they are travelled..
There will be also be a "close loop" in the more gentle terrain that
encircles the camping right-of-way. I will card this loop, to allow
parts of it to be shared, with diminished confusion, with the other
three loops. It will be a good warm-up loop and a fun woods trail for
everyone.
Any children, or anyone else wanting to stay close to camp, with
close and easy bail-outs, will need to pay attention to the cards, and
not the ribbon. It is a big piece of ground. A wrong turn and someone
inexperienced could find themselves in advanced terrrain. Wandering
about, they could get turned around pretty easily.
It was a little wet today, but nothing bad. Mostly, it was
"faaaantastic!" to be rolling the humps on the fire lanes with the
front wheel in the air and slipping between the trees on those
off-camber downhills.
Deb's Pampera (Saturday) has a fantastic and beautiful engine.
My Sweet Baby's engine requires a bit more attention, from the extra
power, but the ground clearance and suspension made the ride so much
more fun, end easy on my body. More than doubled the speed I traveled
the trail on Saturday.
I had no incidences Saturday.
I fell off my bike twice today. <G>
No damage, but will be a good camp gathering story.
I would really like to have an EC125 chassis with a 250 Pampera engine
in it. That engine is amazing.
Can't wait for the Wudi.
It's going to be a "Hoot!"
And, I will volunteer to lead any forays in to the wilds of Hot
Springs if an exxploratory search of the local titty bars is
unorganized. (It's not like the "Old Days", when there was a healthy
selection of at least 8 working Gentlemen's Clubs in Hot Springs. But
there are three similar establishments in operation that I'm aware
of.)

Still got mud drops in my hair from today's ride.
