First of all, a round for everyone, doubles for those who offered tips &
suggestions...
The problem ended up being the ignition switch, which would explain why it'd
start at times, then just got worse to the point of not starting. I replaced
the switch last year due to another problem, where it'd sometimes crank
over, but other times wouldn't do anything. No problems since, until a week
or so ago. It'll crank over every time, but the only way it'll start now is
if I hold the 2 plugs connecting the wiring to the switch. Just holding 'em
tight to the switch allows it to start every time.
Looks like I'll take the car in for a recall we never had taken car of. They
had a problem with the switch design not being able to handle the current
flow. If I'm not mistaken, they add a relay of some sort to take the load
off the switch.

A simular problem I had with my '70 Oldsmububble!
Dang those GM electronics anyway!
(also, I had problems with the starter motors as they got cooked due to
my running headers too close without a heat shield)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Update on Grand Am |

That's what I've read, on a very helpful web site. We'll see if it stays
cool long enough for the dealer to fix it.

Yeah, I was sure glad to find this instead of a bad fuel pump. Fuckin' fuel
pump is close to $300.
