Well Al Brennan called me up yesterday and said he was in town, so we
decided to meet bright and early this morning. When the alarm went off at
9am I rolled over and called him and said "hey, how about 11am?" Then I
rolled over and went back to sleep. Damn daylight savings.

Anyhow last night I went over the Daytona and put on a new footpeg, checked
the tires and put a mirror on it. So this morning all that was left to do
was reattach the brake fluid reservior, and let her rip. [1] I couldn't find
the screw, so when Al arrived this morning we had to take the bike on 2
errands before the ride. We filled up and then headed over to the local
autoparts store to score a screw to attach the reservior to the handlebar.

At the gas station a guy came up to us and said, "great day for a ride, my
transmission is on the fritz."

I said "Harley, eh?" Forgetting that Al's favorite ride is his Hog. Smile
The guy retorted, "Yeah, how did ya know?"

We took off for a ride in the country. We ran some decent twisties, me on
the ST3 and he on the Daytona. We watched some local enthusiats launch the
first rockets of the year, and had some coffee. I like it when Al comes to
town!

Anyhow the Orange Crush is the 1st relatively dedicated sportbike Al has
ridden, so I am curious about his comments.

Today was a good Sunday, hopefully there will be many more this summer.

[1] I later learned I forgot to attach the speedo cable so Al rode the whole
day without a speedo!

Runs great when it has gas in it Wink I thought it was a blast to
ride, and that exhaust with the damaged packing sounds awesome.
Thanks much for letting me ride it!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
