When re-filling, and installing a new flint,
take extra care to get any excess lighter fluid off your
hands before testing the lighter.

On this subject....

I have a Zippo copy that I picked up last time I went to the Rebellion
brewery. Only it won't light.

The flint is sparking, it's full of fluid and the wick is in the right
place.

I can light it with another lighter, but it won't light from a spark
from the flint.

Any ideas?

That's the one, yes.

Always pop in there for a couple of cases of bottles when I'm passing.

Pikey flints. Do you get a 'fat' orange or a bright yellow spark? Yellow
= good.
Mixture too rich. Shorten the wick. Add a drop of acetone[1][2][3] or
nitro[2][3][4].

[1] carry a small fire extinguisher.
[2] clothing/skin damage may occur.
[3] nothing wrong with a bit of danger, etc.
[4] carry a big fire extinguisher.

Also, when using a re-filled Zippo, especially on a windy day, make sure you
do not ignite your beard . . . . . please do not ask me how I know this Wink

Is the right answer.

Just dropped the original flint out and replaced it with a Ronson flint.

Now works perfectly.

Cheers.

Well worth it.

Bottles come as Red (traditional bitter), Blonde or White (wheat beer).

They also do seasonal specials, but they can only be bought in polykegs
or 'bag in a box' - unfortunately, I don't really want to drink a whole
one of those before it goes off.

You can sample any of their beers before buying, too.

Aye, I thought that, but lifetime guarantee means what it says on the tin.

Had the same experience as Adie last year with an old brass one.
