After ten consecutive days of cleaning out a house we
just sold, I chose to get out on the bike today.
I began with a short ride to the Texaco station at NW
hiway & Abrams for some fuel.
From there, I proceeded to the tire store at NW hiway
& Lullwater, for a tire check. Unfortunately, they were
closed today, probably for the Superbowl holiday. So,
I set out for my standby air supplier at the Columbia
tire store. These guys are open 24/7, or it seems that
way. The only problem is very few speak english. Not
that I need a lot of communication with them for a tire
check, but it would be nice to exchange a little conver-
sation while there.
After determining the tires checked out OK(which is
surprising after the long dormant period, and the colder
temperatures), I headed towards Keller's on NW hi-
way.
Once there, I see there are many bikes. As I look
around, I see Big Ed waving to me. So, I order my
standardized drink and began visiting with Ed. We
discussed motorcycles, airplanes, tires, people from
this group(how is Bill Walker anyway?), and just about
anything that could be made into a conversation subject.
Ed was there with a friend riding a 2004 Sportster. Me
and the very friendly Sportster owner talked about the
Harley's, the Harley dealerships, and his Sportster. The
Sportster has always been my favorite Harley model.
But, all my Harley buddies(at least most of them) have
always talked down the Sportster as too small, or even
as being a girls bike. ??
As the time approached for the Superbowl game. Ed and
his friend, as well as many others departed. I also left the
Keller's property. But, I rode out to NWhiway and the
intersection of Centerville, to look for a couple of cars
we'd discussed earlier.
From there, I took Centerville over to SH66, and head-
ed west on 66 to transition into Forest Lane. From there
I turned south on Abrams, and followed it home.
All in all, I had a great ride, with some welcome weather
for an early February. My total mileage was exactly 41.5.
No secondary fuel stops were required.
BTW.... Ed also informed me that Louie had bought a
new Yamaha Stratoliner:

It's a fine looking bike, and is probably just as flawless
to ride.
Thanks.
