Congratulations men (and women) you get to enjoy the ultimate in
American holidays, the Superbowl. "but holiday? are you serious?" dead
serious my pal, this is the greatest American holiday for men; There
is no gift purchasing, you do not have to think ahead of time about
"omg what am I getting so and so for the SuperBowl," no you just show
up and enjoy. In fact, some of us may be winning money today in the
form of office pools, etc. It is a SuperBowl party, a celebration,
unlike those other holidays. you are allowed to sit down in various
attire ranging from full on team apparel to underwear and a white T.
Partake in beverages and snacks and are not expected to do anything
other than consume said nourishment. Unlike Thanksgiving though, this
beverage consumption is usually alcohol in some form and snacks in the
form of finger foods (pizza, nachos, wings, et al). Deliciousness is
imminent comrades.
Entertainment from the game, from family/friends, and even the
commercials are worth watching, when can one ever say they actually
enjoyed watching commercials? hell most of us own devices to skip over
these nuisances, but oh no, not today my good chum, today we enjoy.
yes there are some who will not feel the entertainment, mainly those
poor Giants fans that have to watch their team be abused, but do not
fret Giants fan, 30 other teams were in worse spots than yours. Know
today that fans across the nation though will be rooting along with
you; football fans unite behind teams they have no allegiance to, an
achievement that was attempted by Jesus, but completed by the NFL.
Unity my fellows, unity is to what I speak. So enjoy today my spodely
comrades. >> Stay informed about: The Superbowl |

Yeah, it's kind of a relief now that Bonds is gone. I did enjoy
watching him play though.

Here in CT, nestled between New York and Boston, there's no shortage of
fully committed fans of both teams. The party found itself divided in two,
with Giants fans yelling and shouting in one room all game long while
Patriots fans kept waiting to see the total domination they expect in
another. I just busied myself trying to figure out how my one $10 square in
the pool might somehow win, not giving a rat's ass about either team or the
game of football in general. But I do love an underdog so it was fun
watching the fourth quarter. I ate too much and had bad gas all night. >> Stay informed about: The Superbowl |

Hey now I'm a Dolphins fan and they are my favorite team. It was the only
thing we had going for us this year. I'm so glad that NY won just for that
reason. It was a fun game yesterday. Favorite commercial, the screaming
squirrel for Bridgestone tires.

I'm not much of a football fan, but I do like to see a good play. That

Hah! I spent the Superbowl watching biker movies & drinking beer. Come
game time, the women & children kicked us off the big TV & we had to hunker
down in the Man Cave. Not as good of a picture, but a much better sound
system. Watched the Michael Nesmith music sections of Time Rider on 11.
Joey Dunlop helmet cam Isle of Mann would be vertigo inducing on the big
screen. Sure would be a cool IMAX. RIP JD.
Dirt Gang is coolest biker movie ever.
"They've been kicked off every track in the circuit. They're gypsies. They
come from nowhere and they're going nowhere. "
"God Help The Fuzz that flashes a badge on the Dirt Gang! He'll get a face
full of bloody tread marks and a 250 lb. dirt bike right where he doesn't
need it. "
I want a mesh shirt like Monk's. (ob: Not that there's anything wrong with
that...)

Why should the '72 Dolphins STFU? What they did has never been equalled, and
even if NE had pulled off 19-0 it was nowhere near comparable a feat. Those
Dolphins lost their starting quarterback midseason and managed to win the
remainder of the regular season with a 2nd stringer on his last legs. They
did it with a defense of unknowns and an offense of guys who were mostly
traded from other teams. Not a 1st round draft pick among them. You can't
compare the free agency era of today to how things were in 1972.
And your remark about the '84 'Canes (it was actually '86) shows a lack of
knowledge about the incident that caused the uproar. The '84 'Canes were a
dismal 8-5 and lost to BC on the infamous Flutie "hail Mary" pass. I was
born and raised in Miami and witnessed those '72 Dolphins firsthand and
cheered them on (and all the Dolphin teams before and since). I have been a
'Canes fan since the '60s when they weren't a blip on the National
Championship radar. The press likes to manufacture myths in order to promote
big games or to tear down great teams. The 'Canes have suffered greatly from
these tactics while the truth is harder to come by. The '86 'Canes (most
likely who you were referring to) were reacting to a provocation that
started in the press and carried on into the team dinner where they were
disrespected. Showing up in fatigues was there way of saying they were under
attack.
And with all the talent on that NE team, it says a lot about them when their
coach feels the need to resort to cheating to gain an advantage. They will
never measure up to that '72 Dolphin team. Never. >> Stay informed about: The Superbowl |

Woke Sunday morning to 8+ inches of fresh snow, called my riding
buddy and cancled our ride. Sat around bummed most of the morning.
About noon or so I call back and stated "if you can pick me up I
would ride, but my truck (2wd) won't make it out of the neighborhood"
.. His answer"I'm on my way". You know you got a great riding buddy
when he will drive to your door to pick you up in 8" of snow (and
still snowing) in his 4wd truck and take you riding.
I watched anahiem 3 while waiting for DJ to arrive then headed to the
desert for a late start on a ride that turned out to be great! Only
and inch or 2 of wet snow on top of moist dirt and the sun even broke
threw once in a while, temps in the mid 30's and throwing brown roost
on top of fresh white snow, great stuff! Only managed to get in a
little over 20 miles but it was enough to start the break in on a new
250 XC-W. BTW e-starts are cool if you can remember you have one.
Oh yea, almost forgot, we were back in time to see the 2nd half of
that football game. I think the guy's with the "G" on their helmets
won.
