Even if I do manage to get the bits and re-assemble before I have to leave in 6 days I still have to get an engineer's inspection to get the "write off" lifted (otherwise I'd be happy to ride it a-bit-bent). Apart from that I'm getting a bit broke so it's time now to take a bit of a reality-check ..... [sob].
