| Why don't they make Diesel motorbikes?
As far a daily rider goes, you could run biodiesel and have virtually free
to run, environmentally friendly travel...

THe Enfield Diesel gets about 1000mpg. And has a top speed of about
30mph.

A friend had one, it was called a Taurus diesel, not an Enfield for some
reason, topped out at 70kmh. Strange thing was that someone stole it. rear
wheel had a sari guard and the bike also had a built in cage for carrying
chickens.

Well, you could almost mention the Dong Feng ... single cylinder diesel,
two wheels (across though, not fore and aft!) came with a whole lot of
attachments, plough, cultivator, trailer ...
Cheers

Australian Financial Review 17 August 2004
"So far Howard's luck has survived a great deal: his move to dismiss
broken election pledges by distinguishing between "core" and "non-core"
promises; his retrospectively time-limited "never ever" pledge on the
goods and services tax; his vagueness about when he committed Australia
to war against Iraq; his shifting standards for ministerial conduct; his
demonising of asylum seekers as child killers; his tendency to blame
"advice" rather than to openly accept responsibility when things go wrong."
Will Howard's luck survive another election ? Do Australians not care
that their PM is a liar ?

This begs another stupid question.
We have vehicles that do 130 km/h, get120mpg+, and will run on vegetable
oil.
I may be dreaming here, but isn't this the solution we've all be looking
for?
It solves the greenhouse problem (Kyoto will the be easy to comply with if
we're all getting 120mpg)
It solves the middle east problem (nutcases with too much political power)
It solves the economic problems (ie. reliance on foreign powers for energy
needs).
What's the con?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Stupid Question |

As everyone says... power to weight ratio.
Thats why you don't see many diesel race vehicles.
