Anyone belong to or started an area sport bike club?

I've seen many riders in my area but never any indication that an
organization exists. At best its a few loose groups of squids that cruise
around or do stunts on the highway.

I was thinking of starting a club for riders to socialize, learn from
eachother, promote safety and maybe hold events for charity. I
dunno...something that gets people involved with something positive instead
of just cruising for chicks on their bikes and gets some positive community
exposure.

Does anybody have any experience with this sort of thing?

Thanks a million,

Adam

Occasionally the stunters band together and make rap videos with guys wheeling.

Usually kids buy sportbikes and wreck them long before they have a chance to
meet many others. Those that do learn how to ride typically want to be
competitive little pricks. And this type of riding doesn't lend itself well to
groups.
That said, there are a couple that I know of near your neck of the woods.

You'll just end up with all those loser squids doing the same shit only in
your club.

Well, here down in civilized Texas, we have the TSBA, or Texas Sport Biker
Association. Ya see pardner, we don't tolerate many yay-hoos or yankees, for
that matter. We don't do much there wheelee-er-in as our Texas Rangers might
jes shoot ya.

Yeehaa! I sure do like a quick steed! I can't understand them Hardley
fellers...why the hell would you want to ride a tractor on 2 wheels? Slow as
snot, and handles like a pregnant Brahma.

Adios Amigos.

In our area (CT) we have a group of riders who started a web site and M/C
club.

We have a lot of group rides in the summer, parties/gatherings throughout
the winter and an active web site.

I ride down from Kokomo on Sunday mornings to meet with the guys around
Bloomington. They have a lot of local and national activities.
