Shock Dyno - I stopped by in Palo Alto on Friday to drop off my shock to be serviced. Phil (Owner) was in the back working on his new shock dyno. He spent a week in North Carolina learning to use it and in the last few days haveing jigs mage to work with..

kx250 rear shock question - I repair in kx250 94r back On back telescope to be visible leakages, in manualu Clymer it has not nothing about repair of this element. Whether someone knows how much, and what type of oil I can use? Some hints? Thanks

Hi all

Want to look at doing something about the rear shock on my 83 XR350RD.
It's getting a bit past it, the chrome rod is pitted and flaking and I
doubt that the oil has ever been changed. I also stuffed the rebound
adjustment mechanism when the swingarm collapsed on to it after loosing
a bolt on a ride some time ago.

One of the options I'm looking at is buying a Works Performance
Ultracross and shipping it to NZ. The other option is to get a custom
built ohlins here locally.

Anybody had any experience with the Ultracross?

Any info greatly appreciated.

I've never had a customer disappointed by a purchase from Works
Performance. I don't think that you can go wrong dealing with them.
The key to satisfaction will be good communications.
My normal method of dealing with them is to just call and ask them
(specifically Tom) what their suggestion is for my customer's
application (after telling them the intended bike, usage, and my
customer's personal physical information).

I will soon do this concerning my AHRMA (post vintage class) cross
country race bike, a 1982 Husky XC250. I left it sitting for 15 years
in my open shed, and the Ohlins piggyback shocks were ruined. (The
air in my 17" Hi Point "Red Dot" knobby is over 17 years old.)

When I was racing the vintage nationals, I called them, gave them the
application and all the pertinent meausrements (swingarm pivot to axle
length, distance to upper shock mount from S/A pivot, and distance to
lower shock mount) they custom made shocks for two bikes for me. One
was a '74 CR125. They worked pretty well.

The other set was for a '74 Can Am 250 and they worked simply amazing.
I could not believe how well they hooked up on rouch, choppy terrain.
Great bottoming resistance too! I was *very* satisfied.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Thanks for the info.

I'll probably go down this path as my wife gets up to LA (from New
Zealand) at least twice a month, so I won't have to deal with
international freight charges. They list a specfic shock for my bike so
they obviously already have all the info and it will work out cheaper
than getting something custom built locally.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
