The bad thing about riding with the RedShad is he has that big gas tank on
that road bike. He showed up at my drive about 8:45am. I was ready to go but
we had to wait around until 9:00am as we had put information out to our so
called accompanying riders that 9:00a would be the departure time.
Top water minnow is a term from long ago, usually applied to individuals who
didn't or were unable to complete, rise to the occasion, hold their own, or
otherwise not fail. You fisherman know a top water minnow looks good... on
top of the water. Put the little fish down where the business is and the
minnow will drown. Good for the top water that mother nature given instincts
tell him not to play with the big fish.
I mention, to the RedShad, the woman I have stashed down in Mills County
and we agree to pick her up about mid-ride. Among the things we'll use her
for are taking notes, pictures, gas money, dialing 911, and ballast for high
speed riding in windy conditions.
So here we go, me and the RedShad. That crisp air this time of year sure
makes those bikes sound good and powerful as we nicked the front edge of the
red each step to fifth gear.
10 hours later we had traveled through the towns and cities listed. Some
nice curves, some along the Colorado, some dirt. 1st good ride of the year
for me. We have some pictures but probably shouldn't post them here.

Sounds like it was a good ride.
Let me know who those slackers who didn't show up were...I'll go kick
their asses for you!
For me, it was getting ready for the road again this week. With all
the high winds and fences blown down, I was expecting mine to be the
first...with the way Mesquite has a warrant out for my arrest 'cause
of it. I checked that fence up one side and the other. I believe it is
standing straighter than before. Everyone else has a busted up fence
laying on the ground, but mine is still standing. After giving the
fence a once over to make sure no one has tampered with it, I began
the "chain maintenance" for my monthly routine. What started with a 10
minute piece of work turned into a 3 hour full cleaning resulting in
my dismantling of the Hurricane to get the spots not normally
accessible. I even mounted that Stebel horn I've been having laying in
my garage.

====well there was a crowd..every body and their favorite Aunt Bea was
there, you can bet. Th MG @ Jefferson is mainly a family deal. oh'
there were many motorsikels, b ut not like a Bike Rally. I enjoyed
seeing all the different purple/yellow cos-tumes. -Louieg, how is
your new ''whatever'' bike riding? I was taking a break, and sitting
by a coupla other older fellows, and one noticed my Valkyrie Cap. He
and his two buddies were both older, like me, and both rode Valks.
They called theirs, ''Dragons'', I had never heard 'em called that,
you? One feller, he must have been 70, because he said he needs to
sell his, cause' he has been dropping it a lot lately. I told him, if
I was that old, I cannot imagine ''me'' even riding, ''let alone'' a
big ass, bad, 'mighty' Valk. <g> -I contined, by saying if I get to
where I cannot hold the big Gal up, I'll get me a Trike, like Jerry
did. hehehehehhdjdhfjhjhehe...............MrJayT= >> Stay informed about: There was a Saturday ride |
