Okay, I'm ready to roll...where does everyone want to meet?

It's an open ride, and anyone is welcome to join up. The plan is to
meet up, start with full tanks, head to Hico, eat pie, head to the gap,
head back to Hico for lunch, head home...while splitting off on the
ride back.

I'm looking at meeting up @ say 8 or 9 in the morning? Somewhere
convenient to access toward Hico would be best to meet. There's a
Cracker Barrel over in Arlington somewhere that we've met before, but I
can't remember which exit to take off I-20.

Let's get rolling!!!

Hey Dood..... I'm afraid most of my friends are too sketchy to give us
a definitive plan for riding. Better go without me, but I might see
you along the way.

Also plan on riding with some new ladies that might not be into the
hard-core riding that this ride would produce. We'll see.

Don't worry man, I'm supposedly "back" now.....

Fullstate, I sorta thought you were just talking, I had doubt you'd go
on the ride.I just ad that feelin'!
Why? Well, you havent been active on this group right at a year. (one
reason?)
I just didnt think you would meet up with Brian and join in on the
ride.
Just my ''people skills'' talent I guess. <g>
Folks are bad at acting like their interested; then dont do it.
Good intentions is one thang, and maybe you did?
Whatever??
Over?-?

Well BJ, it works like this.

I really want / wanted to go riding today. And as much as I am up for
riding with Brian, his schedule and distance doesn't fit in with some
other friends of mine that want to ride.

Those same friends are folks that I haven't gotten to spend time with
in the last 3 years due to my work schedule and because they are close
friends of mine they take precedence.

The sad thing is that those same friends are very flaky and hard to
nail down to anything so I didn't want to commit to Brian, and try to
make it work for everyone when I knew it was a slim possibility.

But....my bike is all ready to go out in the garage and I'll have the
clutch out soon.

That's cool. You should've let me know and we could've arranged a
different ride which would've fit better. Like I said in the beginning,
I was just wanting to ride and didn't really care about any schedules
or routes.

BTW, you would've been hard pressed to keep up with that new Shadow of
mine! As good as your Falco handles and runs, I just might have
something you'd have to work at riding with. I did the route from
Arlington to Venus on 157 and more than doubled each of the signs. Smile

Damn good reasoning.
It happens to me regularly. and that is I have lots of riding buddies
around here, plus my family is made up of Riders. So, yes, they pretty
much take precedence.
I just got home from riding with my son and his friend.
We rode to Prescott, Ark. and looked at somehting, and pittled around in
that area riding and visiting, and got home a few minutes ago. Our
‘‘pittliing around’’ added up to about 168 miles.
So, I understand completely.

Not sure. We will certainly have to wait for the weather to clear up
a bit. I'm sorry I missed riding with you that weekend, especially
after every one flaked.

Anyway, I managed to pick up a speeding ticket and new front tire for
my bike (though not at the same time).

I haven't had the bike out in the weather with the new tire. They are
slick enough to begin with and I don't want to risk having the front
end wash out on me because of a wet street. Gotta get about 100 miles
on it to wear the junk off of it.
