Finally got out of (or *escaped from*) the honey-do list today. Took off
about 12:30 for destinations unknown.

The unknown destination ended up being 1171 west to 377 north. Pulled
over to put some tunes on the phone just to find out the friggin' thing's
battery had died. 'You mean you have to plug them in once in a while?!@#!
$@@##$?'. Landed in Denton and cruised around some of the more 'open'
areas...

Got back onto 380 heading west and had a nice leisurely cruise to
Decatur. Hopped on FM730 south towards Rhome. Real nice countryside out
there. Looks like it would be a decade or more before development ruins
it but I digress...

I hopped on 81/287 and quick timed it down to Saginaw and Ft Worth. Was
going to get on 820 eastbound until I saw it was jammed up for a few
miles. Got off that and gassed up just in time to see three sport-bikers
cruising at high velocity doing wheelies on 820 west. I got a chuckle
out of that. Note to self - look in tomorrow's paper for news about bike
wrecks on 820 west around 2:30p.

Cruised up 377 through Keller and into Roanoke. As I was passing a
favored eating establishment I realized the pack of crackers and 3 diet
pepsis had been burned off. I stopped at Prairie House and sat down for
an excellent steak and mashed 'taters. Cruised up a little further on
377N and made a nice, sharp, floorboard scraping turn to 114 east. I was
cruising along in the left lane in the midst of traffic when I noticed
that ALL the cars and trucks had backed off and were well behind me.
Looked at the speedo and saw I was only doing about 75 and realized the
ghost of motor-cop past was riding with me and had freaked out the cagers.

Gotta love having an ex-cop bike and wearing a white helmet. grin

Got back home around 4:30 having logged around 180 miles. Beautiful
weather, wide open roads and a full tank of gas.

Hope y'all had a good ride today. I'm not much in to either Super-Boar
team and Sunday it's supposed to get near to mid-70's and sunny so maybe
I'll see you out tomorrow.

Ride safe.

Bill
