Amazing. I wondered if a 4 stroke would ever win a 250 Main supercross,
since that style of course really favors the 2 stroke. Is the bike that
good, or is Windham just a total freak when he is "on"?

Ramsey won one, so did Doug Henry way back. Ferry came close. I think it
has most to do with Carmichael winning most everything for a few years.

I'm not so sure Windham is runaway freak. Larocco was pretty close.
Michael Byrne stayed with Reed in a qualifier. Have no idea where he was in
the main, I did not pay close enough attention, but the kid's got a future
on the green bike me-thinks.

Did any KTMs break in 2, or is that sooo last year?

Jeez Louise...LaRocco is the toughest guy out there. I think he should
mosey on over to the GNCC/Enduro side of things. He's got the speed,
lord knows he's got the endurance, and he won't hafta worry about
those gawd-awful starts of his. I mean, kee-rist, can't someone teach
him how to get off the damn line? I mean, it's like free throws in
basketball...it's a basic fundamental that can be-should be!-taught in
the lower ranks of competition. What the hell?
I'm tired of seeing LaRocco be "pretty close." I think it's time he
shifted his still-potent riding talents to an arena that suits him a
little better, either outdoor MX only (*real* riding, compared to SX,
in my opinion) or the off-road stuff. Life ain't easy when LaRocco is
your favorite rider...<sigh>

I really enjoyed watching Windham come into the corners hard, looking
like a flat-tracker. A thoroughly enjoyable race.

Where *were* all the KTMs? And, by the way, where did Lusk finish in
San Diego? Was it in last place? I think it was...

I'm not sure this course favored 2 stroke. Vuilleman mentioned he had
a hard time getting comfortable on the slick surface.
Overall I think most of the riders had a harder time. The action
wasn't flowing as much as in previous races.

I'm not necessarily a fan of KW, but I've got to admit that my respect
for him went up quite a notch. Winning is one thing, but winning
after going down twice in the heat race is quite a feat. specially after
the second time. He went down quite hard with no warning. It shows a lot
of mental toughness.

I remember watching LaRocco in a qualifier, at MPLS a couple years back,
where he was a position shy of the main. That guy definetely has another
level to kick it into. Visibly faster than anyone else by the last lap. It
was easy to notice, because he was like another rider as compared to the
first three or so laps.

Is Lanston the only KTM rider on a 250? Taking it easy on those triple
clamps or what? <g>.

I'll bet Lusk crashed somewhere, somehow. Shoulda stuck with Yamaha the
first time, he'd had a title by now.
