G'day

SV650 K3 currently in workshop for insurance job... . Im just interested in
peoples opinions on something - the quote for the fix includes replacement
of the factory muffler at a parts cost of just under $1500. Should I have
seen if they could replace with a better aftermarket muffler within that
price range instead of the Suzki part? Do you think the insurer would allow
it?

Sean

dont speak to the insurance company...speak to the repairer....he is the one
that has to buy it and split the difference between each other

Ask the insurer. I'm sure they've been asked before, and they won't taunt
you. Or read your policy document and definitions, or both.

I'm told the K3 sounds extra sweet with Staintune pipe & can.

I just asked the shop, "can you put on a Staintune instead of the original?"
A: Yes we can, you just pay the $30 difference in price and the insurance
company don't know about it and don't care.

All to easy.

I dropped the ZX12, was with Swann, they asked ME if they could put an
aftermarket pipe on it, turned out I got a full akrapovic system that ended
up cheaper than the replacement can alone !
