I'm onto my 3rd different tyres for that bike now, Metzler Sportec M-1
and they are unbelievable! They grip the road like, like, I dunno,
it's just unbelievable! The difference was like riding a whole new
bike. I thoroughly recommend them!

How quick do you ride? They're both 17" right, so you've got a world of
choice. Bridgestone BT012 or BT014 (if u can get them), Michelin Pilot
Power, Pirelli Diablo, Metzler sportec M1.

They're all good, just depends on what you like.

Here's what the UK mag Two Wheels Only had to say on sport tyres (March
ed.):

"Pilot Powers: Warm up nicely, stick well even under stress at the track and
no stability woes to be found either. An excellent road tyre for sportsbike
riders who do the occasional track day.

Bridgestone BT012: Good all round sports tyre that hanles the wet well too.
Pilot Power has more grip tho

Pirello Diablo: Great from cold all rounder

Dunlop 208: Slower steering, less grip, not esp. pleasant

Metzeler Sportec: great road tyres, handy in the wet, can get overwhelmed on
the track "

I use the Michie Pilot Roads myself: nice turn-in, stable, wearing well,
enough extra grip when called upon in those 'oh shit' moments Smile

Cheers,

Ern

Speaking of tyres Coney, after that ride I waited til the next day for
cold tyres and checked pressure - 30 psi instead of 42. Explains the
rear letting go again but doesn't explain why both front and rear
slowly deflate at the same rate ...

Just need to keep an eye on it I guess. Went for a quick blat that day
and they felt fine. Same tyres as I had on the budgie and they never
changed, so all I can think is that the Busa's rim design is causing
it.

Cheers

What sort of riding do you do?

As a great set, i'd recommend Bridgestone 020 for the rear and up the front
where you want grip, BT012. You should see 15000km from the rear.

Ummm

Had Michelin Sports front and back. Rear appeared to take quite a while to
warm up. Other than that good.

Currently running Michelin Sports front and Michelin Road back. Warms up
faster.

Haven't lost it yet.

But then again YMMV Smile

I got one, I just have to be not too lazy to check the buggers ...

Anyone up for a ride tomorrow?

Cheers

(I also got to figure out where the thing is - might still be at South
Arm.

Asked the same question Aug last year.
Searched owners groups and surveyed here.

Bought BT020 rear and a cheap 010 front (replaced by 012 now).

Do a lot of commuting to work and the odd 280k run in the hills.
Wearing evenly, Very happy.
if you are replacing the original mez3 blocks of wood you wont believe it is
the same bike.
Ben.
