While searching for something entirely different, I came across an
article that mentioned the above man and his bike, and remember seeing
The Thing in action during the 70's. It had a Vincent engine and twin
rear tyres.

Is there anyone here with more info on the bike or the man? It would be
nice to know if both are still around.

That's the man, the misspelt name came from the article and a defective
memory.
Thank you.

Life in the slow lane - Took the CB125 into central London today and then out to work in Tunbridge Wells. Top whack - indicated 65 or so, with the needle in the red. Happy cruising speed: 50. Fuel consumption: 115mpg. Extra time taken on the return commute, compared with.......

Starting the thing - Oh well it has took me longer than I expected but I now can get the bike to start from cold in 3 or 4 kicks. I knew if I was patient enough I would fathom it. All I need to do is apply the choke and turn it over slowly, it fires up on the 3rd kick...

I've started to get a thing about... - Honda CB750's, the old ones where the petrol tank looked separate from the side panels. Also cheap, old trials bikes for long distance trials. Right, give me all i need to know about both please. I've never looked at classic bikes in the past but..

Very old Vintage Motorcycle Magazines - Im disposing of a large number of Motor Cycling Mags from the 50s - 70s over the next week or so on eBay. I also have complete sets of Classic Bike and The Classic Motorcycle - both from issue one! if anyone is interested contact me off list. I am..

Is it just me? - That's fed up with just having an sob when you want to go somewhere on 2 wheels, forever having stupid things happen like fuel pipes doing a Houdini act from the petrol tap, fuses working loose, brakes coming on on their own, etc... So I went to..
