And it's not like the pace was slow - they're faster than last year...

Gonna take a closer look later, but it's interesting to see the same
thing hinted at Jerez, with the "production" or Evo '05 Hondas at the
top. Looks like the Camel boys have a nice low-57/high-56 pace, matched
or topped only by Stoner and Capirossi; Elias isn't there and Hayden
definitely is slower on race tires. Melandri continues to really
struggle as well. Gibernau hammered out three straight mid-high 56s
mid-session as well, so the Bridgestone race tires are working, but will
they work race distance? Certainly doesn't look like a weekend for the
Kawis and Suzukis, though. I still pick Rossi for the win (he did 5
straight laps below 57.2 in the Q), but Stoner definitely looks like
he's got the consistent speed to be right there and on the box tomorrow.
And Colin is there as well - the P3 results may be more what the race
looks like. Should be VERY interesting...
